Transportation

Our engineering firm has experience in design of any type of project such as local roadway design as well as design of limited access, multiple lane freeways and interchanges. Most notably, D&H played an integral part in the first ever public/private partnership between a coal company and the West Virginia Division of Highways, the Red Jacket section of King Coal Highway in Mingo County. This was a public-private partnership between the WVDOH and Nicewonder Contracting, Inc. (Alpha Natural Resources) (NCI/ANR) where NCI/ANR constructed twelve miles of four-lane highway and connector roads to subgrade utilizing coal synergy. The project was completed and opened to the public in 2012.
