Construction Inspector – Morgantown, WV
Dieffenbauch & Hritz, LLC (D&H) is currently seeking a Construction Inspector to join our growing inspection team in Morgantown, WV. The qualified candidate will be responsible for monitoring construction compliance and serve as a liaison between the contractor and the client.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide QA/QC construction inspection services to verify contractor compliance with client plans, specifications, and approved procedures for heavy civil, roadway, and bridge construction activities.
- Document project activity with daily reports and photographs to be filed weekly.
- Document quantities of materials hauled on site and materials delivered to the site.
- Monitor erosion and control measures.
- Perform material sampling and compaction testing with nuclear gauge.
- Observe and document bridge and roadway related construction elements, including earthwork, foundations, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, and associated structural components.
- Serve as a liaison between client and contractor.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience with construction observation, construction inspection or construction supervision of large scale earth moving heavy civil, roadway, and/or bridge construction projects.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to pass a motor vehicle report (MVR), pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings and background check.
- Experience with compaction testing.
